Update from Gold Star Medical Business Services
Effective October 1, 2026, United Healthcare will no longer require Prior Authorization for CPT Codes 98940, 98941 and 98942 on their Medicare Advantage and Medicare Dual SNP plans. See attached documents for both the Medicare Advantage and Commercial Plans.
PLEASE NOTE: This does not affect UHC Commercial plans that require Prior Auth for Chiropractic treatment. Practices will still need to determine if Optum Prior Auth is required on these plans, based on the group and the individual Provider’s Tier level.
