H.R. 539, the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act, continues to gain bipartisan support in Congress. If passed, the bill would expand Medicare coverage for services provided by Doctors of Chiropractic and improve access to care for Medicare beneficiaries.
You may already know that the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and the International Chiropractors Association (ICA) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support a single Medicare bill with proposed amendments. The bill contains language similar to what has been introduced in previous congressional sessions. The amended statutory language has not yet been drafted, but we have been assured it will be shared as it moves through the amendment and scoring process.
There is a limited window to show support before this bill moves forward. Chiropractors are encouraged to contact their members of Congress before July 24.
